The term semi numismatic coins means those that are semi collectible. This is a very broad term and there is a lot of debate about what is and is not semi numismatic. For the purpose of this article we are looking at Old European Gold Coins such as Swiss Francs and British Sovereigns. They are an attractive way to invest in gold as in the past these coins were exempt from confiscation (1933) this however is no guarantee they will be exempt in the future. The only drawback is they each have very peculiar amounts of pure gold in them making it hard to work out what the current value is at any one time.

The easiest way to get the current value of semi numismatic coins is by downloading the Gold Bug Calculator App to your iPhone or Android. This App will give you the latest value at the tap of a button.

This is reference guide for all the different coins giving the exact content of each coin.
